Your point is invalid. Since Char ONLY exist in Tyria, there is absolutely no reason anyone in only Cantha and/or Elonia would want the mod. So if you couldn't get to the trader who had the mods then you had absolutely no need for the mods.

As for the "why", hard mode and possible PvP imballance if Char are a playable character in the futer chapters.

Mule full of 25% pommels FTW!

Amen! I'm not sure why A-Net is having such a hard time in updating this...

This morning when I got on it was still 25% but when I rebooted it it was 20%. I'm confused about why pre-existing mods weren't just grandfathered with the 25%. I'm wondering if someone puts the mod on a weapon will it change to 20%. *lol* I guess I'll have to be satisfied with +55% dmg vs Charr instead of +60% dmg vs Charr.

"Balance"--like the fact that +15% weapons with no negatives/conditions are still in the game?

What about necrotic armor?

They may have their own Civil War going on soon enough... I killed some Charr the other day and two of them dropped weapons that, when identified, ended up having damage + Charr Slaying mods on them. The filthy filthy traitors!

Correct me if i'm wrong (as if you wouldn't) but I thought the 25% vs Charr were bugged anyway and didn't give any bonus at all.

If it didn't make enough of a difference in the game, be quiet and use the 10%, because it "hasn't made enough of a difference"

When they first introduced the ability to salvage from collector items, I tested this with Wild Blow and the sword mod worked fine.

I did not test the bow mod.

So, clarify for me please. How does 5% lower damage against Charr, of all things, constitute a thread?

Well, when I heard that GW:EN was coming out and had to do with charr, I went to the trader, got 10 +25 vs Charr.. for Sword and Bow... and I still got 'em.... not to mention I also have ONE.. +25% vs charr HAMMER mod as well... just one.

never got around to getting more.

So if anyone wants +25% Vs Char mod.. send me a PM, Ill sell ya one.. mine havn't changed to 20% at all.

Exit the program and restart it, and see if it is still 25%.

A poster above you did that, and noted that it had been changed to 20%.

If you've got a 25% upgrade, I'd sell it now before it gets changed...

One in NF, but he's an ally...

Seriously! 5% on a sword isn't a lot. 37.95 damage vs 36.432 on a sword. (Minus crit hit bonus.)

Damn. I hit for one less damage! I suck ass!
